OpenCV Cell/B.E. Porting

Overview

OpenCV is an open source computer vision library. OpenCV allows people to easily write programs for such tasks as finding specific individuals in images and detecting motion of objects.
In this project, we are mainly focused on optimizing OpenCV, which has already released version 1.0. How much we can optimize it on the Cell/B.E. And if we can, then what are OpenCV's potential applications? These are the questions we are facing.

The most interesting aspect of this project is none other than getting to work directly with “PS3 Linux”.
PS3 Linux combines Cell/B.E. and open source as the base of its power. However, PS3 Linux still lack applications that successfully harness Cell/B.E.'s processing power, I believe that only about 1/7th of Cell/B.E.'s potential is currently being realized by PS3 Linux. This project aims to break this trend with the aim of “let's create an open source product to harness Cell/B.E.'s powers!”
With this background, we aim to write open source code that can be used by everyone instead of limiting our scope to narrow applications.
There aren't many other jobs around that will allow you to write open source code and optimize it for the Cell/B.E.
And as this is an open source project, we write documents in English as well. So this is also proving to be a good opportunity for me to improve my English.
