Q.What is attractive about working at Fixstars?
A.What people find attractive will depend on the person, but if I can think of one thing that would be “connections with people”.
It is a valuable experience to be able to interact with people at the forefront of industry and academia, as well as those with superb software development experience.
The question of which technology to pursue is a very valid one for engineers, as one's lifetime is limited. The number of software development companies out there is vast, and I believe that our company has a unique vision and technology of the future. We are a company where technology can grow along with the engineers.
Q.What kind of people are you looking for?
A.The ideal candidate will have vast technical knowledge and experience in computer architecture, and is always studying cutting edge technology.
The person is also a strong coder who can handle dozens of programming languages, and is very knowledgeable not only about software development but also about system architecture and operations.
As a person, I want someone who displays curiosity in various fields, has a logical mind, and a polished business sense. Someone who is popular and can easily establish strong relationships in the company and out, proficiency in negotiation and presentation techniques is also important.
A responsible person who can see through the noise to the true foundations, we want someone who is global, open-minded, and outgoing.
Q. What do you expect from people joining Fixstars?
A.There are many people out there who build walls around themselves, like not being interested in organizations because they're engineers, or not trying to understand hardware because they're web programmers. I believe that there are limitless possibilities for everyone. Always challenge the unknowns and be capable of changing one self.

2005: Assumed the role of CTO of Fixstars Corp. (current appointment).
2002: Joined Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. and was involved in cutting-edge research in Ubiquitous Computing and Sensor Networks.
2001: Graduated from the School of Media and Governance at Keio University with a Ph.D. Research fellow (DC2,PD) at Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
